Thanks for making Good Game my best selling book so far!
After finishing it and feeling like it was difficult to write contemporary romance, I’ve been focused on my cyberpunk novel for the past year. Ha! Why did I think that would be easier to write.
Never say never
Apparently my subconscious had a completely different idea than I did about contemporary romance.
Recently, a cast of characters decided to take up residence in my brain, especially in the middle of the night, and have whole scenes of dialogue. And you guessed it, it’s a full on contemporary romance novel.
So, I’ve surrendered and started working on a general outline. I’m also getting down as much of the dream state dialogue as I can remember. The weird thing is I’m writing it in first person present tense.
I know…whaaaat?
This does not mean that my cyberpunk novel is on hold. Switching gears for a little while will help me get that one back on track. I chose to write a very difficult novel with lots of world building and I don’t want to produce something I’m not happy with. I want you to enjoy it. I want it to be the best it can be.
If I can do both at the same time, why not?
I won’t tell you anything about the new story yet. Let me get things worked out a bit first, but I’ll leave you with two songs. Each one represents one of the two main characters.
